Arvest Bank Partners with Food Bank of NCA, Mercy Mall of Harrison, and Yellville Area Food Closet

Yellville — Arvest Bank, North Central Arkansas, will partner with the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, Mercy Mall of Harrison, and the Yellville Area Food Closet for its 12th annual Million Meals campaign, a two-month, bank-wide effort to provide one million meals or more to those in need within the bank’s footprint.

The VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) agreed to sponsor the 2022 Big Cat Classic hosted the Yellville-Summit Panthers and Lady Panthers at the Yellville-City Park. This year’s classic will see the Panthers face off against the Valley Springs Tigers, Norfork Panthers and the Mountainburg Dragons in baseball.

Junior Golf is Back at Big Creek Golf & Country Club. The club is excited to announce two separate programs for junior golfers at Big Creek this summer: Junior Golf Camp and Big Creek Junior Academy. Both Camp and Academy are open to all interested juniors regardless of membership in Big Creek. All junior instruction will be supervised by PGA staff members James Stanofski and Mark Morton.

HOT SPRINGS — Valley Springs High School took the top spot in the High School Division of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Archery in the Schools State Championship held Saturday at Bank OZK Arena. Charleston claimed first place in both the Elementary and Middle School divisions, which were held Friday at the same location.

Big Creek Golf & Country Club hosted an unofficial college tournament organized by Lyon College from Batesville today. Big Creek will be hosting the NAIA Collegiate Conference Championship May 2-3, and several teams took the opportunity to come get a preview of the course.
