Growing up in a family of athletes and coaches, I’ve been around (and loved) sports my entire life. But, before Title IX became law in 1972, there were very few opportunities for me and many other girls around the country to play organized sports. I and my friends didn’t really question that. It was what it was, and it was all we’d ever known. I did kind of wonder, when my mom talked about playing on state championship basketball teams in high school, why I didn’t have that opportunity. But none of the girls I knew ahead of me in school had, so, again, it was what it was.

The 2022 Charity Classic Tournament for ASU-Mountain Home and the ASUMH Technical Center/Workforce Development was held at Big Creek Golf & Country Club this weekend. Championship Flight: 1.
