James Mitchell, extension livestock economist with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, said total cattle inventories stood at 98.8 million, “falling below 100 million for the first time since 2015.” Mitchell said the numbers, which came out the U.S.

As Arkansas students head back to school, we want to take this week to remind drivers to be mindful of student safety when approaching school buses. It is estimated that close to 350,000 students in our state ride a bus to school.

Governors Working Together

Today I’d like to talk about a recent partnership with the state of Oklahoma. On Wednesday, I joined Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt on the Oklahoma State University-Tulsa campus to sign a Memorandum of Understanding stating that we are working together to make the Arkansas-Oklahoma corridor a center of excellence in advanced mobility.

Aesop has a fable that tells the story of two frogs that lived in the same pool of water. During the hot summer, the pool dried up. The frogs who need water to thrive, set out to find another place to live. They passed a deep well full of water. One frog said to the other that they should make this well their new home. The other frog erring on the side of caution, questioned his friend about what they would do if the deep water failed them, and they couldn’t get out of the cavernous well.

The phrase “back to school” means different things to different people. To some, Back To School is a 1986 comedy starring Rodney Dangerfield where he goes well, back to school. Robert Downey Jr. is in the film. And Sam Kinison is a professor who, if you remember the comedian, is always SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS!! The gutsiest thing the film tries to pull off is to make diving a spectator sport.
