YELLVILLE - Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State University - Mountain Home sponsored a Public Safety Instructor Development course this week on the ASUMH campus. Alexander stated instructors from the Northwest and Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy campuses traveled to Mountain Home to teach the class which trains and certifies law enforcement officers as public safety instructors. This certification allows these deputies to train other law enforcement officers and also serves as a prerequisite for other training certifications such as firearms instructor training.
The Flippin City Council meeting was held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Flippin District Court Room. Council members, Lacie Bettencourt, Jodi Howard, Margaret Ott, with Mayor Heith Hogan presiding. Tony Ford was absent.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, October 4, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.
