Marion County Jurors on the PINK Panel do NOT need to report on Monday, February 12, 2024. The next time they are to report is Monday, March 25, 2024. All Jurors need to be sure to call the night before all Jury dates to confirm service.

ATU FSL students gain insight at conference

Six Arkansas Tech University students attended the 2024 Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV) Central conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the first weekend in February. Jacob Allen of Pine Bluff, Tucker Cramm of Irving, Texas, Kiara Doshier of Yellville, Chloe Karnes of West Fork, Ellie Riddle of Damascus and Bryce Smith of Bryant represented ATU fraternity and sorority life at the conference, which drew approximately 2,400 college students from around the United States.

Securing the Border

Rep. Rick Crawford During a recent visit to the border at Eagle Pass, Texas, I was both shocked and saddened by the state of our nation’s border with Mexico. I saw firsthand the people and drugs being smuggled across our border with Mexico and heard from law enforcement from across the country tasked with handling this assault on America’s national security. As it stands today, our border is not secure and therefore the American people are not safe. 2023 saw a record number of border encounters.

Catching up with Y-S Schools

The Yellville-Summit Middle School, Y-S Middle School, had a fantastic week of academic competitions. Carter Metcalf won 1st place in the Marion County Spelling Bee and will go on to compete at the Arkansas State Spelling Bee scheduled March 9. Two years in a roll, way to go, Carter. Braden Walker was runner-up at the Marion County. Y-S Middle School was well represented in the Marion County Spelling Bee.
