Cattlemen’s Potluck Dinner

The 18th annual November potluck dinner meeting of the Marion County Cattlemen’s Association will be held Thursday, November 14, at 6:30 in the old Yellville-Summit cafeteria. Meat, drinks, and paper goods will be provided. This will be the 2025 official membership drive kick-off. All members and potential members are encouraged to attend.

Carlton Marion Inn

The Carlton Marion Inn, an iconic and historical landmark in Yellville, Arkansas, is entering an exciting new phase. Originally established in 1866 by Adam Weast as the Weast Hotel, the inn has a rich history, having gone through several transformations over the decades. It served various purposes, including a brief period as a gas station, before being restored as a hotel. Today, under the ownership of Felipe and Julie Caldeira, the property has been revitalized with a fresh vision. Their passion for providing unique guest experiences is driving this new chapter.

Fire Restrictions at Buffalo National River

Harrison – Due to the continued dry conditions across the Ozarks, as of October 17, 2024, lighting or maintaining a campfire within the boundaries of Buffalo National River is prohibited except in the following locations: Within designated campgrounds with established campfire grates/rings; On gravel bars in areas that are naturally devoid of vegetation; Free standing charcoal or gas grills may be used in developed campgrounds and day use picnic areas. There are no restrictions on the use of propane or liquid fueled stoves and lanterns, and their use remains permitted in all areas of the park.
