Cheryl Blasdel, Flippin Middle School and High School art instructor recently was honored as the 2024 Arkansas Art Educator of the Year by the Arkansas Art Education Association at the Arkansas Art Educators Conference. Her award was presented on November 6, 2024, at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art.

The National Capital Region played host to wounded warriors from around the world participating in a weeklong event celebrating comradery and recovery—starting with the Air Force Wounded Warrior Care Fair and Day of Healing in National Harbor, Maryland, on November 18, 2024. Finding outlets to express themselves through performing and visual arts, participants performed musical overtures, comedy routines, and showcased a variety of artwork during the opening event.

By Mountain Echo Staff In a special Marion County Library Board Meeting called by Marion County Judge Jason Stumph, the board was dissolved by Judge Stumph taking only Three and half minutes to do so. There were a few MC Justices scattered in the audience, four board members, a former MC Judge and approximately 30 residents attended the open public meeting.
