Delta Dental of Arkansas is providing immediate disaster relief grants for communities and dental practices affected by the May 26 tornados in Northwest Arkansas. Guidelines and applications can be found at https:// www.deltadentalar.comDisasterRelief Community organizations that provide immediate disaster relief may apply for grants of up to $2,500 through the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation.

This Week in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK – The number of fatalities in Arkansas due to drug overdoses declined faster than the national average last year, according to records maintained by the Centers for Disease Control. From 2022 to 2023 the number of fatalities dropped by 13.7 percent, from 591 fatalities caused by an overdose to 510 fatalities.

CONSUMER ALERT: Post-Storm Rebuilding Scams and Price Gouging

Attorney General Tim Griffin today issued the following statement alerting Arkansans of post-storm rebuilding scams and informing businesses that the prohibitions on price gouging in Act 367 of 1997 are now in effect after Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’s declaration of a state of emergency in Executive Order 24-07 issued on May 26: “My prayers continue for everyone affected by this weekend’s storms, especially those who lost loved ones. Arkansans always show kindness and compassion to others when storms strike our state.
