The Marion County Election Commission will meet on August 10 at 10 a.m. for election machine training and on August 23 at 6 p.m.

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas sales tax holiday this year will be on the first weekend in August, Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4. Consumers will not have to pay sales tax on any articles of clothing that cost less than $100.

The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. New Location will be in the Marion County Annex courtroom located at 105 S.

HARRISON – Buffalo National River will be installing a new water line to Steel Creek starting on Monday, July 29. As a result, the only road accessing Steel Creek will be shut down Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 a.m.

First, I want to thank all of you who have asked me why I quit writing my column, Growing Up Flippin, and who expressed how much they had enjoyed reading it. The fact of the matter is, after two years and almost 100 columns, I simply ran out of what I hoped were entertaining memories.

LITTLE ROCK – Survivors of the severe storms that ripped through eight counties in northern Arkansas May 24-27 have one more month to apply for federal assistance. The application deadline is August 28. Everyone in the designated area who sustained damage during the storms is encouraged to apply by the deadline.

New Student registration will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Panther Pavilion, (new gym). A copy of the student’s social security card, immunization record, and birth certificate as proof of child’s age should be presented at time of registration.
