Breaking Ground to Honor Veterans

It’s been more than 30 years since the United States and coalition forces helped liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion. Now, the men and women who served in uniform during Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield will soon be recognized with a national memorial honoring their selfless service and sacrifice.

Sen Sheng, MD, PhD, Joins WRMC

Fayetteville — Sen Sheng, MD, PhD, recently joined the Washington Regional J.B. Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute, where he provides acute care for hospitalized patients with stroke, seizures and other neurologic issues, including patients who require acute electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring for diagnosis and treatment.

MC Judge ARRAIGNED

On Wednesday, July 13, at 10 a.m., John Massey, Marion County Judge appeared in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Court to enter a plea to the charge of Public Sexual Indecency. Honorable John Putnam presided over the court where Massey was ordered to appear.

Judge Massey Charged, Booked and Released

John Franklin Massey has been charged with Public Sexual Indecency from an incident on or about March 30, 2022. Massey is alleged to have placed his hand on the buttocks, rubbing and patting the buttocks of a female employed at the Marion County Road Department. Also, Massey is reported to have place his arm around victim and pulled her close to his person, then moved hand down to pat victim on the buttocks several more times.

Three-Digit Dialing, Texting for Suicide Prevention Take Effect July 16

On July 16 three-digit dialing to reach the 988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the Veterans Crisis Line will officially take effect. Those who need help will be able to dial or text 988 to reach a suicide prevention and mental health crisis counselor. Calls and texts to 988 will be directed to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. Veterans then press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line.
