The “Old Flippin Jail” is History

The City of Flippin held a celebration and Dedication Ceremony at the “Old Flippin Jail” on the corner of Park Street and 2nd Street on Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. The Marion County Heritage Society, with assistance from the City of Flippin and the Division of Arkansas Heritage, worked over the last year to have the historic jail placed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places and is working toward having it placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

by John Lovett, University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station FAYETTEVILLE - Research conducted by the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station using a red clover extract in feed shows promise in offsetting some of the adverse effects of tall fescue toxicosis in livestock, a problem with an estimated $1 billion impact in decreased production. Many pastures in Arkansas and around the country are planted in Kentucky 31 tall fescue.
