American Legion Post 61 Commander

YELLVILLE — On May 20, 2025, Douglas Starkey, 66, of Yellville, pleaded guilty in Marion County Circuit Court to one count of felony Theft of Property and one count of felony Abuse of Office.

The Flippin Chamber of Commerce gathered on Friday, July 11, at Hutch Creek Sourdough Co. for a Ribbon Cutting located at 103 2nd Street. The bakery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Three Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members from Yellville-Summit High School recently returned from the FBLA National Leadership Conference, held June 28-July 3 in Anaheim, California. Recent graduates Elizabeth Smith and Fay Chism, along with upcoming senior Kyla Jackson, proudly represented Yellville-Summit as they competed among thousands of the nation’s top students.

Local F.D. receive $2,000 Grant from Black Hills Energy

Fay Chism, 2025 Yellville Summit High School graduate, is one of forty western Arkansas students awarded an academic scholarship from Farm Credit of Western Arkansas. Fay plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall. Fay is the granddaughter of Farm Credit member Kennith Chism. “We proudly award this well-deserved scholarship in recognition of Fay’s many academic accomplishments and student leadership,” said Farm Credit of Western Arkansas CEO Brandon Haberer. “We’ve distributed more than $440,000 in scholarship awards since 1996 to help talented young people like Fay achieve their academic goals,” Haberer added. “These scholarships demonstrate our commitment to the next generation of agriculture and community leaders.” As a financial cooperative, Farm Credit lends money to farmers, ranchers and rural homeowners. The association has more than $2 billion in assets, over 12,000 members and 23 branch offices across 41 western Arkansas counties.
