The regular meeting of the Flippin City Council was held Tuesday, February 21, at 6:00 p.m. at the Flippin City Hall. Members present were Lacie Bettencourt, Joe Cantrall, Tony Ford, and Margaret Ott, along with Mayor Heith Hogan presiding.

The Yellville-Summit School Board met for a special Board Meeting Monday, March 6, 2023, in the Administrative Building at 5:30 p.m. Jason Jones, Robin Lee, Nathan Rogers, Eleanor Davenport, Travis Doshier were in attendance, along with Wes Henderson, superintendent and David Wyatt, High School principal.

The ballot draw for the locals school boards was held Tuesday, March 7, in the Marion County Annex Courtroom at 4 p.m. Candidates and public were invited to attend.

Join leaders from around the state Saturday, March 18, for the Sowing the Seeds of Leadership Workshop. The workshop is scheduled to be held at the North Little Rock Justice Center. The address is 1 Justice Center Drive in North Little Rock. Anyone wishing to attend can plan for registration to begin a 9 a.m. and the workshop to be held from 9:30 a.m. till 3 p.m. Drinks will be provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch. This event will be provided by the Leadership Committee. The Committee consists of Patricia Murray, Carol Westergren and Lisa Evridge. The motto for the event is: Great Leader Focus on the Seeds not the Flowers. Save the date and plan to attend.

“The Circle of Friends” grief support group, formerly The Compassionate Friends, will be meeting at their new location at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 511 Coley Drive, in Mountain Home.

The first 2023 dinner meeting of the Marion County Cattlemen’s Association will be held Thursday. March 9, at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 16, the Cotter School Board met at 7 p.m. on the campus of Cotter School District. School board members Allen Franks Jimmy Morgan, Cameron Ross and Russel Duggins were in attendance along with Jayme Jones, Superintendent, and other school administrators.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly all-u-can-eat fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, March 3 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.
