ARKANSAS Civil Air Patrol Cadet Study Roller Coasters

HOT SPRINGS, - What started as a desire to connect roller coasters to learning culminated in Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadets from all over Arkansas and parts of Oklahoma to converge on the amusement park, Magic Springs on Saturday September 24, 2022. The notion of using amusement park rides to teach STEM, to teenagers began with CAP Master Sgt. Gary Podgurski, a member of the 83rd Composite Squadron, Fort Smith.

BSCC Revenue show drastic improvement

The Bull Shoals City Council met in regular session September 29, with Councilmen Chuck Kinler and Dino Giannini not in attendance. The Council breezed through it’s printed agenda which included Department Reports, Treasurer’s Report, Building Inspection update, water board training, and changing the November meeting and workshop dates due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Arkansas Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have fallen 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.19/g today, according to Gas-Buddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 5.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 36.4 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 2.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.86 per gallon.

BS Library It Costs a Lot

The Bull Shoals Library book and yard sale September 9 and 10 during Miles and Miles of Yard Sales was a great success. The library again thanks all those who donated books and other things, came to the sale, and American Safeguard Insurance for sponsoring the event.
