Update from the MC Sheriff

It has been three months since we hit the ground running here at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. As is usually the case when stepping into a new position there is much to be learned and as we discover the “ins and outs” here, there is much more we find we WANT to accomplish. As I promised you transparency during my campaign, I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on what we have been up to in our first three months here: At the County level, there are some things not yet established for us. One being our 2023 budget. Even without an approved budget, you can be assured that we are going through ALL current spending from top to bottom and looking for cost-lowering options in every area of what we do here.

BH Installs Safe Haven Baby Box

– Baxter Health has recently announced that they have installed a Safe Haven Baby Box at the East Entrance of their hospital building. Baxter Health partnered with Knights of Columbus and the 2022 Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class to bring the Safe Haven Baby Box to the community.

Starting and Up-Potting Seeds

So, last week we talked about starting and up potting seeds. This week we will talk about getting those seedlings ready to go out in the garden. Once they start growing their true leaves and getting bigger you will want to have some air circulating and moving your starts like the wind moves plants outside. This will make your plants stems sturdier and much hardier so they will better adjust to the outside conditions.
