Students are clearing out their lockers and signing yearbooks as teachers grade final exams and close the classroom door for the final time this school year. While their attention is turning to summer, my staff is already preparing for fall and getting ready for our next Congressional Youth Cabinet (CYC).
FAYETTEVILLE - Local students were named to the Spring 2023 Dean’s List in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas. To qualify for the Dean’s List, the following local students achieved at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours.
Third Grade All A’s - Jacob Emanuel, Carli Youse, Alaina Coleman, Claire Davenport, Elisabet Dubuque, Karah Jones, Kinley Smith, Savanna Criffield, Caroline Goodwin, Raelee Methvin, Colin Marberry, and Josie Thieme.

The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville held its monthly meeting May 11, 2023. Meeting was called to order at 1800 hours by Bobby Hamlin, 1st Vice Commander.
Friends of Marion County Veterans Army veteran Cheryl Westfall was born in 1971, in Janesville, Wisconsin, and shortly after that they moved to North Pole, Alaska where she graduated from high school and immediately joined the army at age 17.
