First Dinner Meeting
The first 2024 dinner meeting of the Marion County Cattlemen’s Association will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m., in the Flippin cafeteria. Powell Feed and Fertilizer will be sponsoring the meeting and program.

The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday March 14, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. New Location will be in the Marion County Annex courtroom located at 105 S.
Instead of featuring individual “Pets of the Week” today, we would like to help the people of our community (as well as those outside our community) have a better idea of what they should do if they find a stray dog and want to help.

Wednesday, February 21, at 3:00 p.m., Military Service Sisters was presented with a donation check in front of the Mountain Home mural. The donation, in the amount of $500, is a contribution from the 2024 Woman Veteran Calendar to support the noble work and initiatives of the Military Service Sisters in Arkansas.

The ACT 56 Award is awarded to outstanding gifted programs in the state of Arkansas. The Cotter GT program was awarded the ACT 56 Award for schools under 1000 students. Lisa Coots is the GT coordinator/facilitator. The Cotter program has focused on a variety of programming options for the students that go above and beyond standards. Cotter Schools, parents and teachers are proud of the way the GT program excels from the classroom to the community.

Sunday- Partly cloudy with a high around 76 degrees and a low near 55 degrees. Next week: Expect highs to stay in the 70s and lows in the 30s early in the week for Monday with a chance of rain. Cooler weather moves in Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in 50s and lows in the 30s.

The regular meeting of the Flippin City Council was held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Flippin District Court Room. Lacie Bettencourt, Jodi Howard, Margaret Ott was in attendance, along Heith Hogan, mayor. Tony Ford was absent.
Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its first monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner of 2024 this coming Friday, March 1st from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.

HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts is now accepting applications for Summer@ASMSA camps. Summer@ASMSA is free, one-week summer camps for current eighth- and ninth-grade students in all Arkansas schools as well as 7th-graders participating in ASMSA-TIP.
