FAYETTEVILLE - Local students were named to the Spring 2024 Dean›s List in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas. To qualify for the Dean’s List, the following local students achieved at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours.

Kenneth Charles Apel, 91, of Mountain Home. Kenneth died June 27, 2024, at Mountain Home.

Harrison – The water system at Steel Creek is currently out of order. The water line has recently developed several leaks making water service to Steel Creek unsustainable.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, June 7, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.

The Calico Rock Lions club will once again bring the community and surrounding area their annual 4th of July Rayvon Cantrell Fireworks Extravaganza on Wednesday (July 3rd) evening, at dusk in Earl King Park off state highway 56 in Calico Rock. The event never fails to entertain all those who attend, young and old alike.
