I took a recent trip to Jefferson City to interview the new director of the Department of Conservation, and it turned out to be the disappointment I expected. I was trying to get him to come to some venue in the Ozarks to meet with hunters, fishermen and outdoorsmen.
The Farm to School program is a win for students, a win for farmers, and a win for communities. It strengthens our food system and our local economies, and it provides opportunities for students to develop new skills, such as agricultural or livestock production, and marketing, business, and entrepreneurship.

Veterans can now access key VA letters and notices online, including documents outlining the evidence needed to support disability claims, through VA.gov. Expanded access to decision letters VA has recently expanded the types of documents available online, adding more letters that help Veterans understand the evidence required for their claims.
Oh my...have we got some sweethearts for y’all this week! Our doggie of the week is Bernadette (Bernie, to her friends, and she’d sure like for you to be one). Bernie and her babies were dumped in a rural area and eventually ended up at Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter (HAH).
In Canada next week I will take time from fishing to hunt ruffed grouse. Usually when I hunt grouse, I find a few woodcocks, but there are fewer each year.
