We had representatives from Owensville, Ellington, Farmington, Conway, Marshfield-Niangua and Cabool attending. I will be going to each of those communities to hold future meetings in the quest to establish C.S.C. memberships all across Missouri. If you want to be a member, contact me. On July 5, 1947, Larry Doby made his debut with the Cleveland Indians, becoming the first Black player in the American League three months after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in the National League. (In the game against the Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park, Doby, pinch-hitting for Bryan Stephens, struck out in his first at-bat during the seventh inning; Chicago won 6-5.)

Yellville Pee-Wee Football

Charlie Melton, Coach Yellville Pee-Wee Football and Cheer forms can be picked up starting July 6 at the Yellville City Hall. The deadline for signups is July 24. Anyone interested in helping coach either third-fourth grand team or fifth-sixth grade team will need to fill out the coach’s application and return it to City Hall.
