Chairman Tommy Dean Johnson asked for a motion to open discussion on the ordinances that would allow the community center project to be placed on the March 3, 2026, ballot. Justice John Reed made the motion, but it was not seconded by Justice Tommy Dorsey, Justice Travis Hopson, or Justice Chuck Van Velkinburgh. Finally, Justice Johnson seconded the motion himself. No reason was given for the motion failure amongst the other Justices. General discussion ensued with Justice Reed questioning verbiage of the ordinances. Attorney Sam Pasthing discussed this with the group at length. He will contact Attorney Sarah Giammo, Friday, Eldridge, & Clark Firm, Little Rock and author of the ordinances for clarifications. Open discussion ensued with the JPs expressing concern over various issues with the Community Center Project.
