Baxter Health to Host Public Retirement Reception for Dr. Bruce White

- Baxter Health is pleased to invite the public, employees, volunteers, and medical staff to join us in celebrating and honoring Dr. Bruce White in his retirement at a public reception on Thursday, June 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baxter Health in the Lagerborg Dining Room. After completing medical school, an Internal Medicine residency, and a fellowship in Oncology and Hematology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Dr. White joined Baxter Regional Medical Center (now Baxter Health), where he has spent nearly four decades serving patients in north central Arkansas.

I spoke to a college ornithology class about birds a few years back. I think my talk went over well except for my woodpecker recipes. I have had a great fascination with birds since I was very small. I wanted to grow up and be a waterfowl biologist as dad and I floated the Big Piney River in the fall, sneaking up on wood ducks and mallards and many other species of wild migrators.

Pets of the Week

This week’s featured kitty is a gorgeous long hair calico named Cupcake! She is a young adult and was an indoor/outdoor kitty. (Of course, with her long hair, she’d do better as an indoor cat.) Her owner, a military veteran, unexpectedly passed away earlier this year so she’s looking for someone to give her love and purrs to.

Our dog of the week is a big, busy boy named Hoss! He is a lab/ shepherd mix with a great personality and lots of energy. Hoss is between one and two years old, housetrained, and knows basic commands.
