What are the benefits of trees? Have you ever thought that trees can help lower high temperatures? Do you prefer to stand in the shade or the sun on these 100 degree days we have been having? What about your livestock? If shade trees are provided, that has forage underneath, will they graze more and be more productive? If trees are close to our house and provides some shade for it, will that help to have a cooler house, therefore making our high energy bill less? As with any beneficial practice there comes some disadvantages also.

Speeding violations on Arkansas roadways continue to rise and law enforcement officers across the state plan to ban together in a united operation under the banner, “Obey the Sign or Pay the Fine”. The two-week crackdow directed at speeders begins Monday, July 18.

Weather forecast: It’s been hot. It’s currently hot. And there is a 100% chance of it continuing to be hot for the foreseeable future. That is not just tough on us humans, but on our pets as well. If they are outside, please make sure they have access to shade and plenty of clean water.

Summer always brings back memories of my family’s road trips to Petit Jean State Park and other adventures around Arkansas. Whether I was in the back seat as a kid or driving my own daughters, there was always a lot to see and do as we explored the state.
