Route 358’s tracks have that love for their craft feeling. You know these guys would be amazing to see live after hearing just a few songs “You almost itch for it.” Best known for bending and blending of Americana music, Route 358 has been touring for the past 6 years in support of their first two albums “Fragile Hearts,” which received national and international air play, and their 2020 release “Peregrination I,” which continues in that same trajectory.

Buffalo National River Partners is pleased to be partnering with The Ozark Society in showing the Ozark Society film, First River: How Arkansas Saved a National Treasure. PETS OF THE WEEK

We would like to introduce you to this handsome gentleman. Gunner is a two-year-old Lab mix and he currently is a svelte 74-pounds. Sadly, he and his brother were found as strays a few weeks ago by Yellville Animal Control. We thought for sure someone would come looking for them, but our hopes went unfulfilled and now Gunner is ready to check out of this “hotel” and move on with his furever family. And those humans will be so lucky.

The Cave on the Piney

First time I ever saw it was something about, or around, 65 years ago. It was just a huge hole in the side of the bluff overlooking the lower Big Piney River, a fantastic looking cave about 50 or 60 feet above the base of the bluff, and likely 15 or 20 feet down from the peak of it. Inaccessible!

TREES

What are the benefits of trees? Have you ever thought that trees can help lower high temperatures? Do you prefer to stand in the shade or the sun on these 100 degree days we have been having? What about your livestock? If shade trees are provided, that has forage underneath, will they graze more and be more productive? If trees are close to our house and provides some shade for it, will that help to have a cooler house, therefore making our high energy bill less? As with any beneficial practice there comes some disadvantages also.
