Volunteers gathered for a photo at Yellville-Summit High School durint the Individual Readiness Training conducted to provide free medical and dental treatment to area residents from Marion, Baxter and Boone Counties.

First up is Foxy! This boy is a handsome, 32 pound one-yearold red and white mixed breed dog. Foxy is a gentle stray who was rescued by a nice lady who took care of him until we could make room for him at the shelter.

I want to alert everyone that we intend to have our first ‘Common Sense Conservationists’ meeting of the Fall in Houston, Missouri, on Thursday, September 14, beginning at 7 p.m. We will meet in the rural firehouse building, situated just next to the Texas County Library.

Hot, hot, hot! That’s what we have to say right now! Please remember...if it’s too hot for you in a car or on the pavement, it’s too hot for your pets. Heat-related deaths and burned paws are very real and very sad, so please be mindful.
