The Fairview Cemetery Committee is holding their annual meeting May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Fairview Community Church near the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department. The public is invited to attend. JACKSONVILLE — Nearly 5,400 boys and girls statewide signed up for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Youth Shooting Sports Program this spring, and the first of four regional tournaments starts this Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, to determine which of those kids’ teams are the best in 2023.

The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday, May 11, 2023, upstairs in the Marion County Courthouse at 7:00 pm. The public and members are invited to attend.

Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs and Baxter County are scheduled to photograph women veterans in Mountain Home April 29, at the Baxter County Veterans Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will again host its annual charity bowl-athon to benefit the Peitz Cancer Support House. The fun, family event will be held on Saturday, May 6, at Driftwood Lanes beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Welcome back to my kitchen y’all. I sure hope everyone is having a great week! Since the weather has been so pretty and nice most of this last week, I figured we needed to have a potluck/grill season recipe. We’ve been spending more and more time outside and with the daylight lasting longer we have been grilling more throughout the week. So, this week’s recipe is Heather’s Smoked Cheesy Taters. This is a huge hit at any family get together or potluck we take it to and there is never enough. I usually triple this recipe for large get togethers and it never goes to waste.
