LITTLE ROCK – The number of fatalities in Arkansas due to drug overdoses declined faster than the national average last year, according to records maintained by the Centers for Disease Control. From 2022 to 2023 the number of fatalities dropped by 13.7 percent, from 591 fatalities caused by an overdose to 510 fatalities.

Baxter Health Auxiliary will hold a 2-day Fundraiser Monday, June 17, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Tuesday, June 18, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Delta Dental of Arkansas is providing immediate disaster relief grants for communities and dental practices affected by the May 26 tornados in Northwest Arkansas. Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, June 7, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.
