Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas celebrates 45 years
We are excited to announce that the Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas (AAANWA) is commemorating 45 years of dedicated service. Since 1979, we have been committed to enhancing the lives of seniors in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy, and Washington Counties. Our mission is to improve the lifestyle of individuals aged 60 and older, as well as provide essential services to military veterans and persons with disabilities. As a non-profit organization, we provide a wide range of services to the communities we serve, including Adult Day Center, Care Coordination, Family Caregiver Support Program, Housing, In-home services, Senior Activity Wellness Centers, Meals on Wheels, Ombudsman program, Personal Emergency Response systems, and more.

By Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts Jerry Hopper grew up on country music and a “little bit of rock-inroll”. He mastered the guitar at a young age, playing with his dad and other seasoned local musicians. While still a teenager, he played with Bob Carson and the Monkey Run Boys, a local band known as the Stingrays, and later form the group Mighty Fines He recorded his first album in Nashville in 1983 and through the years has made four additional country and 3 gospel albums.

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas REALTORS Association (ARA) has pledged to provide $2 million in recovery funds to those impacted by the May 26 tornadoes. Through its nonprofit, Hearts & Homes of Arkansas, the ARA will offer up to $2,000 in disaster assistance per residence for housing-related costs, such as rent and mortgage payments. Since late May, Hearts & Homes has partnered with the REALTORS Relief Foundation to distribute $1.4 million in funding.

Madison Hurst graduated from Yellville-Summit High School in 2021. Hurst moved to N Little Rock where she graduated from Paul Mitchell Beauty College. Following graduating from beauty School, Hurst then attended University of Central Arkansas, UCA, where Madison Hurst achieved Exemplary Academic Achievement honors for the Spring semester of 2024 and was named a Presidential Scholar.
