2A Junior District Tournament

Greenland – Greenland High School was awarded to host the Junior District Tournament for 2A schools. Ozark Mountain, Yellville-Summit, Eureka Springs, Haas Hall-Bentonville, Cotter, Life Way Christian and Greenland participated in action in Boys and Girls action. The Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers began the tournament by facing the Eureka Spring Lady Highlanders. The Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers won the game to advance to play Thursday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m. versus the Cotter Lady Warriors. Cotter defeated the host school Greenland to play on Thursday night.

Scholarships Available for Arkansas Students

Little Rock – Scholarships are now available for eligible Arkansas students through Arkansas Community Foundation. The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at two- or four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria. Some scholarships are designated for graduates of a particular high school or those who plan to attend a particular college. Others are based on extracurricular activities or intended college majors.

Carla Purdome, Marion County Collector, has reported that the Collector’s Office CAN accept credit/debit card payments IN PERSON, or on the PHONE, but NOT ONLINE until books have closed. This is standard operating procedure when rolling over to a new year.
