Shade trees foster cooler temperatures underneath their leafy boughs, and that can translate to lower utility bills for homeowners, said Jim Robbins, extension horticulture specialist-ornamentals with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. “Shade trees that are properly located on your property can cut summer utility bills by 20 percent or more,” he said.

Dear Marion County Officials, I have been providing information to Marion County officials for a number of years when asked specific questions by any of the county elected officials or by justices of the quorum court - and I’m glad to do so. That’s my job, at least in part. I’ve been doing this kind of work for better than 42 years and probably know county government operations and law as well as anyone in the state. But, in just the last few months it appears that my answers to questions get miscommunicated; misconstrued; and/or misunderstood by some.
