Update from the MC Sheriff

It has been three months since we hit the ground running here at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. As is usually the case when stepping into a new position there is much to be learned and as we discover the “ins and outs” here, there is much more we find we WANT to accomplish. As I promised you transparency during my campaign, I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on what we have been up to in our first three months here: At the County level, there are some things not yet established for us. One being our 2023 budget. Even without an approved budget, you can be assured that we are going through ALL current spending from top to bottom and looking for cost-lowering options in every area of what we do here.

Growing Up Flippin

HB’s Homestyle Cooking

We always seem to gravitate toward Asian food when I have vegetables in the fridge that need using and this Beef Stir-Fry is always a hit. I always seem to have small amounts of veggies in the fridge that just didn’t get used up. Instead of throwing them to the chickens I try to use up as much as I can for our meals and of course the chickens get the scraps and the leftovers at the end of the week. This, fried rice, and hobo packs are some of my favorite ways to use up odds and ends of things in the refrigerator. You can customize it to what you have on hand or what your family prefers, and it always ends up being way more than you think.
