Cooking with Mumzy!

Hello all, I hope everyone is in good health and happy spirits! Fall is here and it is time to enjoy some outside time before the weather turns to bitter cold and ice. My family is doing really good, and we are rolling with the flow. My craft fair is coming up and I have been working hard to get everything organized and make sure I have plenty of items. I hope it is a good day for it and we have lots of people. I am really excited about how well my little side gig is going. So, everyone have a great week and As Always Remember the Little Things, they are what makes the world so happy.

Backyard Conservation 4

Is your yard flat or does it have some slope to it? Does it have places the slope causes erosion? Terraces can break your backyard into several mini gardens. On steep slopes, terracing can make planting a garden feasible. Terraces prevent erosion by shortening the long slope into a series of shorter, more level steps. This allows heavy rains to soak in rather than run off and cause soil erosion.

Arkansas Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have fallen 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.19/g today, according to Gas-Buddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 5.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 36.4 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 2.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.86 per gallon.

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

Recently, a cousin of mine, Patty Morris Abrams, shared on Facebook that her dad’s cousin, Jimmy “Driftwood” Morris, wrote the song The Battle of New Orleans. I commented that I’d once won second place in the Flippin School Talent Show performing that song, back when I was in grade school. Her post got me strolling down the proverbial memory lane, and here I share it with those of you who want to stroll along with me.
