LRAFB partners with Forge Institute to implement STARBASE ARKANSAS

Through LRAFB, the Department of Defense has approved funding for Forge Institute to open STARBASE Arkansas, a STEM-focused training program geared towards 5th graders Key Facts ● Forge Institute and the 19th Airlift Wing (through the Oice of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs) are partnering to provide Arkansas’ STARBASE program.

Ouachita’s enrollment growth

ARKADELPHIA – Enrollment continues to grow at Ouachita Baptist University, where a Fall 2022 headcount of 1,784 is the university’s highest in 56 years. Total enrollment, up 17.6 percent since 2016, includes a cohort of 445 first-time freshmen that has distinguished itself academically.

$18.7 Million Gift to Double Nursing Grads

Friday, September 9, 2022, the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith announced the largest single gift in its 94-year history – a transformational $18.7 million from the Windgate Foundation that will radically empower the university’s acclaimed nursing and visual arts programs. The gift addresses critical needs in the Arkansas River Valley, creating a pathway to dramatically increase nursing graduates and cultivating an immersive arts experience for students and the public through the expansion of the Windgate Art and Design building and its offerings.

BHA to hold Fundraising Event

Baxter Health Auxiliary (BHA) will hold a 2 day Thomas Fundraiser- at the hospital Lagerborg Dining Room. The Quilt and comfort sets, Sherpa throws, Bamboo memory foam pillows, and all sizes/colors of extra deep pocket sheets will be available on Monday,September 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 27 from 7:am to 3:00pm.
