Cooking with Mumzy!

Hello readers and friends of the Mountaineer Echo, I hope this week finds everyone in good health and happy spirits. We have had a wonderful week; we enjoyed our trip to Memphis and our delicious dinner at Rendezvous. The Bylines, Blues and BBQ Convention was a very nice adventure. But to be honest, they think every month is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month and who are we to argue? Pileated Woodpecker

The Pileated Woodpecker is one of the biggest, most striking forest birds on the continent. It is nearly the size of a crow, black with bold white stripes down the neck and a flaming-red crest. Look and listen for Pileated Woodpeckers whacking at dead trees and fallen logs in search of their main prey, carpenter ants, leaving unique rectangular holes in the wood.

Calling Harry Potter Fans

If you are a Harry Potter fan, Bull Shoals Library has a new book for you. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth book in the Harry Potter series. It is a two-part play written by Jack Thorne based on an original story by J.K. Rowling. Thorne, Rowling and Director John Tiffany collaborated to continue the Harry Potter story in play form rather than in book form.

UAFS CBPD Offers Excel Classes

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Center for Business and Professional Development will host a series of two-day courses designed to help individuals learn to use Microsoft Excel. Trainings will be held at the UAFS Center for Economic Development at The Bakery District in downtown Fort Smith.
