Calling Western Fans

Are you hankering to read some Western novels? Bull Shoals Library (BSL) recently received a donation of about 20 Western novels. These are just some of the new books BSL added to its collection in the last month. Library volunteers process new books as soon as possible so they are added to the new online searchable data base. MCQC votes to purchase Grader

On Tuesday, March 10, the Marion County Quorum Court met at 6 p.m. in the Marion County Courthouse on the Square in Yellville to discuss ordinances, hear reports from the county committee’s and citizens comments. Claudia Brigham, Brady Madden, Wesley Shipman, James Underwood, Mike Scrima, Joyce McCalla, Rick White, Talon Vancuren and Marty Nickels were in attendance, along John Massey, Marion County Judge.

NCA WILDLIFE PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Fifteen species of native chipmunks of the genus Eutamias and one of the genus Tamias are found in North America. The eastern chipmunk, Tamias Striatus and the least chipmunk, Eutamias Minimas are the two most widely distributed and notable species. Behavior and damage are similar among all species of native chipmunks, so damage control recommendations are similar for all species.

SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE APPROACHING

The Republican Women of Marion County are accepting letters of application for a Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is open to all Marion County graduating high school seniors, including those who are home-schooled with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Trade school applicants will be given first consideration. Applicant must be an American citizen.
